દીકરીને ખોળે
આજે પૌત્ર જન્મની પળમાં
મારી નજર જુએ અતિતમાં
મારી પૂત્રી,
પ્યારી પરી હતી એ ત્યારે
મીઠી કળી સી મારે ક્યારે
રીઝવે પલકનને પલકારે
વ્હાલ વીંટાયુ અંતર તારે
આજે,
નવજાત શીશુ લઈ ખોળે
મૃદુલ હાસ્યભર્યા હિલોળે
મારી ભીની આંખ નિહાળે
દીકરી ખીલી સોળ કળાયે

પ્રથમ સંતાનના જન્મ વખતે એક માતા પણ જન્મ લે છે.
એમાંય નવી જન્મેલી માતા ય એક વાર એક માતાને જન્માવી ચુકી હતી તેનું સ્મરણ સોળકળાએ ખીલવી મુકે છે, સૌને.
કાવ્યમાં ખીલવા માટે આ ભાવ ક્યારેય જુનો થતો નથી.
