Dr.M.H.Mehta, He is known as Munibhai.
My brother and me were born and raised in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. He was born in 1942.
He had won almost all possible awards as an aurator in High school, plus music awards. He plays Kashtatarang and writes poetry since young age.
After getting distinction in the first year of Science college, he was the first one from Bhavnagara to go to IIT Mumbai. He did Ph.D. in chemical Engineering at the IIT Mumbai. Daughter Purvi-Amit Bhatt, Son Arjun-Shubhra Mehta, granddaughters Nirja Bhatt and Aria Mehta.
My brother, a gentle soul, ever so curious observer and a poet.
I always observed that he used his God given talent at the highest peak.
2012; Lifetime Achievement Award
1) At the Leadership Summit’s-2012, New Delhi by Agriculture Today and Dr. MH Mehta (former Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Agricultural University and currently the Chairman of The Science Ashram and Gujarat Life Sciences (P) Ltd.) was presented Lifetime Achievement Award by the Minister of State for Agriculture, Govt. of India
2) The lifetime achievement in agriculture for contribution in research, industry and education instituted since 2006. The earlier recipients of this Leadership Award were Dr. MS Swaminathan, Dr. Kidwai, Dr. Kurien, Mr. Balram Jakhad, etc. Dr. Mehta also gave oration on ‘The Coming Eco Agriculture Revolution ‘

I see this Padmashree award, to my father, from three angles, wearing my three different hats as a scientist, as a daughter and as a mother..
As a scientist- it is a great honour for us to that such a high award is conferred upon a scientist in the fields of agriculture S&T
As a Mother (and a working mother)- I see this as a success of my grandmother, a working mother who raised wonderful children while raising her own profile in her career.. her children doing well and her son winning a Padmashree assures working mothers, like me, that you sure can have your own career space and parallelly create that spirit in your children…
As a daughter- My brother and I were raised to be very proud of our nation and honour it.. While many around us were constantly criticizing India- we were taught to trust India.. This Padmashree ascertains our trust in this great nation.

આ બીજ અંગે આધુનિક સંશોધનમા નિશ્ર્વિત જીનને ટાર્ગેટ બનાવી એક નવીન જાત વિકસીત કરવાની એક નવી ટેકનોલોજી વિકસાવી છે.આપણા શરીરમાં ડીએનએ એટલે કે ડિઓકિસરી બોન્યુકિલઇક એસિડ હોય છે. તેનું બંધારણ કુંતલ-શીળી જેવું હોય છે. તેમાં દશ જોડ ન્યુકિઓટાઇડ આવેલા છે. આ ડીએનએમાં નાઇટ્રોજન બેઇઝ રહેલા હોય છે તેમજ તેના કેન્દ્રોમાં હરીતકણો અને કણાભસૂત્રો જેને આપણા શરીર પાવર હાઉસ તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે તે આદેશ દાતા છે તેમજ આનુવંશિક લક્ષણો માટે જવાબદાર છે.
એ જ રીતે શરીરમાં આરએનએ એટલે કે રિબોન્યુકિલઇક એસિડ તેમાં થાઇએમિન પ્રકારના નાઇટ્રોજન બેઇઝ હોતા નથી તે રિબોઝ શર્કરા ધરાવે છે. તેમાં કોષરસ તેમજ રિબોઝોમ્સ રહેલા હોય છે તે આદેશ નુ પાલન કરે છે તેમજ પ્રોટીનનું સંશ્ર્લેષણ કરે છે
આપણે ત્યાં વૈદિક કાળથી વિવિધ સંસ્કારોથી સંપન્ન કરવામાં આવતું.
સ્વસ્થતા માટે ઔષધને જાહ્નવી તોયં અને વૈદ્યને નારાયણ હરિ ગણી સેવન કરવાનું વિધાન છે.
ઋજુ સ્નેહ સરયૂ સાથમાં
રહ્યું સુખ ઈલા સહવાસમાં
ઋજુ સ્નેહ વગર વિકાસ શક્ય જ નથી અને
સત્ કર્મ પ્રખર પ્રભાસમાં
આ પદ્મશ્રી મુનિ હાથમાં.
સત કર્મોથી સિધ્ધી થાય…પ્રશ્ન એટલો જ રહે કે ઘણા પ્રખર વિદ્વાનોની સેવાની કદર કરતા બહુ વાર લાગે છે.કેટલાકને તો આવા સન્માન મરણોતર મળે!!

DR. MAHESH HARIBHAI MEHTA has been awarded the PADMASHREE AWARD by the Government of INDIA.
That’s very good News for the Family.
It is the Moment of Pride for the Recipient Dr. Mehta.
But MOST IMPORTANT is…..it is the Moment gor the GUJARATI..it is a Moment of Pride for ALL INDIANS too.

વડોદરા સુભાનપુરા વિસ્તારમાં રહેતા અને ઇકો ફ્રેન્ડલી એગ્રિકલ્ચરના પ્રણેતા ડૉ. મહેશ હરિભાઈ મહેતાને પદ્મશ્રી એનાયત થયો છે. સાયન્સ એન્ડ એન્જિનિયિંરગ, એગ્રિકલ્ચર સાયન્સમાં ઉત્કૃષ્ટ કામગીરી બદલ ભારત સરકારે વડોદરાના ડૉ. મહેશ મહેતાને પદ્મશ્રી એનાયત કર્યો છે.
ડૉ. મહેતાએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે, હાલ હું એગ્રિ બાયોટેક કંપની સાથે સંકળાયેલો છું, તેમજ ધ સાયન્સ આશ્રમ સંસ્થાના નેજા હેઠળ રાજ્યભરમાં ઇકો ફ્રેન્ડલી એગ્રિકલ્ચર અંગેનાં કાર્યો કરી રહ્યો છું. તેમણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, ભાભા એટોમિક રિસર્ચ સેન્ટરમાં ફરજ બજાવ્યા બાદ જીએસએફસીમાં રિસર્ચ ડાયરેકટર તરીકે જોડાયો હતો. બાદમાં એગ્રિકલ્ચર યુનિ.માં ડૉ. કુરિયન બાદ કુલપતિ તરીકે સેવા આપી હતી.

પ્રગ્નાબહેન અને સર્વેનો ખાસ આભાર. મુનિભાઈની નાનપણથી જ્વલન્ત કારકીર્તિ છે, જે લાંબી નજરે જોતા દેખાય છે. રોજના જીવનમાં તો એ મારો ભાઈ, જે મારા જોર સામે કેટલિક વખત યાદ કરાવે કે, “હું તારાથી મોટો છું,”
ચાર દસકા દૂર રહ્યા છતાં ય એટલા જ નજીક છે.
મુનિભાઈ, ઈલાભાભી અને મજાનુ કુટુંબ, આરતી સોસાયટી, વડોદરામાં રહે છે.
