My brother and me were born and raised in Bhavnagar, Gujarat. He was born in 1942.
He had won almost all possible awards as an aurator in High school, plus music awards. He plays Kashtatarang and writes poetry since young age.
After getting distinction in the first year of Science college, he was the first one from Bhavnagara to go to IIT Mumbai. He did Ph.D. in chemical Engineering at the IIT Mumbai. Daughter Purvi-Amit Bhatt, Son Arjun-Shubhra Mehta, granddaughters Nirja Bhatt and Aria Mehta.

My brother, a gentle soul, ever so curious observer and a poet.
I always observed that he used his God given talent at the highest peak.

 
2012;  Lifetime Achievement Award

1)      At the Leadership Summit’s-2012,  New Delhi by Agriculture Today and Dr. MH Mehta (former Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Agricultural University and currently the Chairman of The Science Ashram and Gujarat Life Sciences (P) Ltd.) was presented Lifetime Achievement Award by the  Minister of State for Agriculture, Govt. of India

2)      The  lifetime achievement in agriculture for contribution in research, industry and education instituted since  2006.  The earlier recipients of this Leadership Award were Dr. MS Swaminathan, Dr. Kidwai, Dr. Kurien, Mr. Balram Jakhad, etc.  Dr. Mehta also gave oration on ‘The Coming Eco Agriculture Revolution ‘

મનડાંના મધુવનમાં રાસ લે રસીલી

શ્યામ સંગ શ્યામ રંગ રાધા રંગીલી—

જન્મકર્મ  રંગોળી  આંગણ    સજેલી

મંડપમાં   વૈરાગે    આવી     વહેલી—

આમંત્રે  તત્વજ્ઞાન   સહોદર   સહેલી

સ્થીરભાવ શાંતચિત્ત  નિર્ગુણ નવેલી—

આસક્ત  એકરસ   એકધ્યાન  ચેલી

કૃષ્ણ કૃષ્ણ રોમ રોમ ઘેલી અલબેલી—

વૃંદાવન ચિત્તવનમાં કૃષ્ણલીલા ખેલી

આત્મસાત  જ્ઞાતાને અનુપમ સુખ હેલી—

માનભાઈ – શિશુવિહાર – ભાવનગર

    મુરબ્બી ભાઈ
    મુ.માનભાઈનો નિકટનો પરિચય ૧૯૬૮ માં થયો પણ એ પહેલા મારાં મનમાં એક પ્રસંગ પ્રેમપૂર્વક સંચવાયેલો હતો.  હું બારેક વર્ષની હતી,     એ સમયે શિશુવિહારનાં મંચ ઊપર બીજાં કવિઓ સાથે મારાં બા, ભાગીરથી   મહેતાનું, તીલક કરી અને હાર પહેરાવી બહુ માન કરાવાયુ હતું. એવું પહેલા કે પછી મેં ક્યાંય કવિઓને આ રીતે માન અપાતા જોયું નથી. એ અનન્ય પ્રસંગ મારા ભોળા મન પર મીઠી છાપ મૂકી ગયેલ.
    મુનિભાઈ અને ઇલાના સગપણ પહેલાની મુલાકાતૉમાં મુ.ભાઈ નિર્લેપ ભાવથી પ્રસન્નતાપૂર્વક બધૉ તાલ જૉયા કરતાં હતાં. કન્યાના પિતા તરીકે  પૉતાનુ મહત્વ બતાવવા કૉઈ સવાલ પૂછ્યાનું મને યાદ નથી.એમની નમ્રતાનૉ પરિચય અમારા આખા કુટુંબને ત્યારે થઈ ગયૉ જ્યારે સગપણને દિવસે, આટલાં મોટા પ્રખ્યાત માણસ હોવાં છતાંય, મારા બાપુજીને પગે લાગ્યા. મારા બાપુજી એકદમ ગળગળા થઈ ગયા.
     મારાં લગ્ન પ્રસંગે, મુનિભાઈને માનસિક ટેકૉ આપવાં, અમારાં નાનાં ગ્રુપમાં મુ.ભાઈ હાજર હતાં. એક વાત યાદ કરતાં આનંદ થાય છે કે જ્યારે જ્યારે હું અમેરિકાથી ભાવનગર આવતી ત્યારે ત્યારે પહેલી સવારનાં આઠેક વાગ્યાનાં અરસામાં મુ.ભાઈ સાયકલ પર ‘ગંગૉત્રિ’ આવી જ જાય. એ મુલાકાતથી મને ખૂબ ભીનૉ આવકાર મળી રહ્યૉ છે એવી પ્રતીતિ થતી. કોઈક વખત મારા મામા નાથાલાલ દવે અને મુ.ભાઈ એ પહેલી મુલાકાતમાં ભેગા થઈ જતાં ત્યારે ઑર આનંદ થતૉ.પછી પૂજય હીરાબા અને ઇંદાબહેન સાથે આવન જાવન થતી રહે પણ મુ.ભાઈની એ વહેલી સવારની મુલાકાત ખાસ વિશેષ હતી.
    મારાં બાને, મુ.માનભાઈ તથા મુ.કાકા અને સર્વે કુટુંબી જનૉએ સ્નેહ અને સન્માન આપ્યાં છે એ યાદ કરતાં ખુશી થાય છે.
